LauncherPro BETA update

The dock notifications are sweet but I think they only work with the stock messaging app :(

And they only work with the stock phone as well after testing it. I appreciate the effort but not much use as most people don't use the stock messaging app. Hopefully one day we can add widgets to the bottom bar. That would be awesome.

Copied from the release notes / blog on launcherpro.com,

"Please note that for these notifications to work, you must either use the corresponding LauncherPro-style icon, or have the shortcut set for the stock phone/messaging app. It should work with other apps as long as you use the LauncherPro icon, and it should work with custom icons as long as you use the stock apps. Support for 3rd party apps with custom icons *might* come in the future but it

my messaging notifications work with handcent.

Nope work with LauncherPro.

Im using Handcent.

Handcent and ChompSMS both have been confirmed to work. Howd you test it?

The missed call notifications work with Dialer One too. I do nto know where someone got the info about it working only with stock apps, but it is totally incorrect.

For those who cant figure out the dock notifications, here's how it works:

Give the Phone app ANY icon = it has dock notifications (missed calls)
Give ANY app the LauncherPro Phone icon = it has dock notifications (missed calls)
Example: I use the Phone app and use the LP Phone icon. It shows missed call notifications.

Give the Messaging app ANY icon = it has dock notifications (new sms)
Give ANY app the LauncherPro Messaging icon = it has dock notifications (new sms)
Example: I use a FolderOrganizer folder full of frequently used apps on my dock with the LP Messaging icon. It shows new SMS notifications.

The dock is the small toolbar at the bottom of the home screens. That is pretty freaking neat. Going to play with it now.

Edit: Done playing with it, now back to sense. I really wish HTC would let Launcher Pro make their home page. It's just missing the quality clearness of the regular home page.

You confused me. You mean you prefer launcherpro appearance? Why are you still using sense?

New feature: custom dock backgrounds. You can now use any image on your gallery as a dock background. Open Preferences > Appearance Settings > Dock Background, and choose “Custom”, your gallery should open and you’ll be able to select your background.

The images should be in portrait format. The width should be 480 pixels for high pixel density devices, and 320 for medium pixel density devices. The height should not be higher than 84 pixels for high pixel density and 56 pixels for medium pixel density.

No, I prefer Launcher Pro, I just don't think it's as clear as sense, and I also miss the widgets and scenes too much when using LP. If LP made the homepage for HTC all of that would be solved. But for now I stick with Sense.

Oh. I think it's a clear but idk . I just use other apps for widgets like beautiful widgets and agenda widget. Personal opinion I guess.
