Launchers

Perhaps I'm confused about the live widget aspect. But I definitely have two weather widgets running which update regularly, ergo, I assume they are live widgets, and I am running Nova Prime. One of the weather widgets is Weatherbug and the other is Accuweather .

I've used launcher pro in the past... and loved it on my Admire.... but for the GS4 I prefer Nova prime, and if you install the "missed it" app you can have the apple style missed notification flag on the app Icon, this shows on the dock, desktop and even in the app drawer.
I'm running 4.4.2 with Nova prime, and having the notification bar autohide clears the screen for apps. but since I can't see the bar at a glance. the missed it counter mixed with the Nova prime unread counter... it's amazing.

Just to be clear, I was referring to the stock Accuweather app that comes with TW, not this one.

Hmm. I don't recall having d/l that app and thought I was running the Accuweather app that came stock. What's the difference?

Been using Nova for a couple of days, now. Quite pleased, except I was hoping it would also change the look & feel of the Messaging & phone apps--way too cutesy for my taste. Would prefer something more serious/business-like. Any suggestions?
Nova settings - look and feel - icon the me- it gives you 2 choices "default, Google kitkat", I downloaded TeamHaterIcons2 from the play store and use , that's the one I use, https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sparkyman.teamhatericons2

Since this is not device specific, I've moved the thread to a more appropriate forum. ;)

Hope everyone is staying nice and warm this week!!!

Ah, I see. Back in post 12, I thought you were saying that Nova could also backup other app custom settings too.

Yes, I have Helium, but going through a backup routine seems pretty cumbersome and I don't have a lot of confidence I can safely recover my settings when moving to an upgraded OS.

I may just be stuck with doing installs and re-customizing everything at some point.
I just did a Helium backup of an unrooted phone and re-installed the apps on the a different phone (same model) and it worked brilliantly. SMS/MMS were all intact as were all of my apps and appdata. Worked much better than I thought it would.

Typically, I've used Titanium to backup, but that requires root and I didn't want to root the phone I was backing up in this case.

Good to know. But I still have concerns about restoring a backup to an upgraded OS. There's where I suspect the issue may lie.

For what it's worth, the backup I did was on a TMobile One S non-rooted running 4.1, Sense4 to a TMobile One S rooted, running 4.2.2 custom Sense 5 ROM. I think I was most surprised that both SMS and MMS moved over perfectly. To be totally honest, I think there was an issue with the call log. The numbers were in the call log, but it didn't pick up the associated names, so it was a little ugly there. I just deleted the log as it wasn't that important to me.

Still, I would understand your concern as depending on how much things change between OS, it could be an issue.
