Launching in January?

Why gaven't you read the article?

General rumor rubbish articles and tweets on sneak peaks on features, innards and design from Forbes, SamMobile.com, and countless other "all knowing" sources, pundits and "experts" can drive one crazy and I don't put much faith in all the noise. I might skim such material, but I don't hang on every word.

That said, some "psychics" suggests Samsung will formally announce the S7/S7 Edge about two weeks before the MWC -- https://www.mobileworldcongress.com/ -- later this month. I've been a Bell Atlantic/Verizon customer since 1992. In recent years the VZ web site is updated with the new toys on the same date as the opening date (when new products are announced) of the MWC. My experience has been the MWC-introducel models make it into the VZ stores at the earliest in mid-April, but they'll start shipping mail order in mid-to-late March.

The fly in the ointment that could move Samsung's dates is the timing of the introduction of Apple's new S7. If you follow the usual business headlines, you know that (1) Apple and Samsung are continually increasing playing one upmanship in the phone "wars" and (2) both companies are dealing with either flat or declining phone sales, depending upon corporate spin and business news pundits analysis

My KISS practice is to look at the manufacturer's new products page and VZ's products page. I will take the time to catch Spencer Kelly's weekly BBC's 'Click' -- http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b006m9ry -- TV show(s) from the MWC in Barcelona. Over the years Click has covered the most interesting products et al.

Having a perfectly good Samsung S6 I haven't been paying attention to the VZ mailings or been in the stores lately, but I would expect any MWC superseded models to be on sale either now or certainly by the time the new products are announced on the first day of the MWC.

HTH. YMMV.
