Help LCD screen replacement (N8010)

Hi all,

I had just been enjoying my Semi new tablet and I was a little silly. I let my 7 year old play with it. :D He was carrying it down the stairs when he dropped it. All my luck he broke the LCD screen inside. Looks like he will be cleaning the dishwasher + for a while!! Everything else works fine. The glass screen is not broken so it means I will need to open it up and repair it.

Searching through the internet I have found it hard to fine which part I need to repair it. Of course I have found the places in China that sell it (well I think) but I am not sure if they are any good.

Where can I buy a new LCD screen for it?

eBay and Chia might be your only bet. Quality may be an issue as these Samsung screen are pretty darn good, but Chinese fakes?

I would pay Samsung for getting it done professionally if I were you - and get a proper case for your sanity's sake!

Thanks for your reply. I just fear the cost involved getting samsung to do it for me. I fear the chinese fakes as well. There is an american company selling screens but I fear that these too are just re-packaged chinese goods. (I live in Germany)

Later this week I will take it into the shop where I bought the tablet and see what they say.

If anyone knows of a good company that sells screens please let me know. I would rather repair it my self as cost is an issue.

There probably is only one company making those screens and you woun't buy anything else, regardless if the seller is in the US or China.

Ak Samsung to tell you how much and then decide. Fixing it yourself can only make things worse.

Don't "fix" it yourself. Unless you are a trained professional with all the latest electronic toolkits.

Dont know what country you are in, but here in the uk I have occasionally seen a none working note on sale on flea bay.description says no main processor some internal bits missing etc. They seem to go for not much money! May be worth keeping an eye out and then cannibalise the two to make one worling model! a try

Ebay might be best bet for something like this. I've found laptop spares in the past from Ebay, like replacement screens, keyboards, case parts, etc. when I was repairing them for a while. This was when I was in the UK, not China. I should imagine the US, Canada etc. would be similar. Although on Ebay you might find a lot of sellers listed as being in Hong Kong, so be careful and check.
