Are we shocked at all by obama handling of things. He prob thought I serve 4 years. make appearances and give world leaders Ipods of his favorite songs. Be on vacation most of the time. Get former presidents to push his ideas. Yeah not surprising at all.

I really have to ask, what do you want him to do?
Fighting 2, failed wars, which cost the USA 1.30 trillion dollars, only to make people that disliked us at first, really hate us now. 1.30 trillion dollars with zero return to anyone.
The only thing the republicans want to do is to make sure 1.3 trillion dollars more gets spent on either the extremely wealthy or to go to war. They could care less if they actually help anyone in the usa.
The democrates just want to make sure pet projects and systemic waste occurs enough to drain away the money before it really does something good for the american people.
What would you like obama to do?
Go to the republican and say, you cant have any more wars and the wealthy need to pay their fair share?
Go to democrats and say unless the money actually creates and does something, I will not approve?
What do you want. Because either of those options will work. Tell either side that you need to buckle down and only spend money on projects that improves the economy and stays 100% in america will just get him laughed at.
To of the biggest problems with this country is
1.) The republicans are just maggots trying to carve off the biggest pieces they can, while there is still something left to carve from.
2.) The democrats are doing everything possible to revive the dead horse.
But the truth of the matter is this, america, the one you know and love, is dead horse. It was systemically poisoned to death by your parents and your parent, parents. There is no american dream, only how much you can carve off while you still can.
I know you don't like the imagery, but really, look around. What does american produce? How many american jobs are going overseas?
Why is it the only people that got a bail out was the extremely wealthy? Because they know they must get a larger piece of the dead horse, while there is still some left.
Understand this. Right this minute, if you are a tax payer, you owe 130,000 dollars this minute. Can you afford 130,000 dollar debt? Can you afford the 1,200 dollars a month for the next 30 years, just to pay off your amount.
But more importantly, my total taxes is about 20% of my income. A person the earns half of what I do, pays about 38% of their income in taxes.
So, tell me, what should he do? Start two failed wars and cause another economic melt down? Because that is the only thing the democrats and republicans seem to care to spend money on.

Well anything would be better than sitting on his ass with the cruise control on. He is the President our nations leader. Its about time for him to take control and start doing what he promised. THe only thing he is good at is going on vacation and passing the buck. Oh also have town hall meetings. I really think he got in over his head.

Really? First that wasn't mainstream media, I can assure you that. Second, when bush was in office he didn't receive nearly as much criticism as Obama, and he did a worse job, and was probably "AWOL" a lot more - gotta finish reading this book to this class, I'll get to the country being under attack later.

Bush was criticized everytime he opened his mouth. How people made fun of him mispronouncing words and even making up words. People called him stupid. So no he wasn't criticized as much as Obama.

Just over 24 in his 2nd term. So call them all 3 days(probably weren't) and you're still at ~150 for both terms. I'm sure all 150 days were strictly business and shooting each other in the face though.

Iraq has been won (on our part), and is now up to the Iraqi people.
Afghanistan is still undecided, but needs to be won to prevent Al Qaeda from having a base of operations (I'm much less hopeful about Afghanistan though).

Also, you will find that the biggest difference between Democrats and Republicans is that they differ on WHO should help the poor, not whether or not they should be helped.
For instance, the first groups on the scene in New Orleans after Katrina were Evangelical Christian groups. Days before the government was there, Evangelical Christians (the base of the Republican Party) was there given aid.
Republicans believe it is the responsibility of the individual. Democrats believe it is the responsibility of the individual to make sure the government is doing it.
Neither side is evil, just based upon a different philosophy.

And from what Bush left him to deal with, i'd say he's actually doing pretty well. if you expect him to turn junk into gold in his first term, you are clearly deluded. The state this country is in financially, socially, economically cannot be fixed by one man alone nor can it be done quickly.

I still feel if the Republicans hadn't wasted so much time on healthcare (which the electorate voted for), that there would be a bigger focus on fixing the economy
