Leaning towards root...

So I really want to rid myself of those crappy bloatware programs..and because there is no free app that I can find that allows me to kill a task, and keep it from restarting...I'm thinking off a root. Or buying a damn restart app killer, anyway, If rooted the the phone, is there an OS out that looks like the current one for the slide? I wouldn't mind putting 2.2 on the damn thing either, but I don't want to lose the look of the phone right now. Thanks!

If you want 2.2 don't wait on T-mobile to get it to you. It may never happen.

Drats... Hmm any links to where I can see what the OS roms look like for 2.2? I can find one that runs how I want, I might do it. I really just want to be rid of the Bloatware..I hardly install tons of apps so the need to add them to the SD card isn't much of a draw.

Xda forums in the htc espresso/mytouch slide sub-forum...not supposed to post links to other forums here (rules rules) so can't give you link but that's where you'll find em.

Yes and no because you also need adw launcher or launcherpro installed as default launcher and install live wallpaper picker apk it won't just work you have to make it work

Hmm..its not a problem for me to get those apps, its just i'm unsure of how to root and install that update then add the apps :/ I read the how to root but i'm still unsure. I'm used to doing this stuff with Blackberries and not Android.

Then don't do it. Sell it and cancel Tmo and get a Droid 2 if you want to keep the newest version of android.

Actually, my comment was more towards me wanting to putted a rooted version of Sense on my phone but not knowing how to do it. Not being scared, or not wanting to.
