Learning java ?!

[l1048]

Hey everybody,

I am a 19 year old student and I am looking for a good way to learn Java.
I want to learn it so bad but I don't really where to start,it's just one big question mark for me.

I googled a lot and visited a lot of websites but none of them was really what I was looking for.

I need a website that explains everything on a relaxed tempo and has exercises.
Most of the websites just show the code but don't really explain it or they don't really let you test it out.

Please post all your experience with websites, tools, games to learn Java.
Hopefully you can help me learn some Java.

Sorry for my bad english I'm not from an english speaking country.

Do you have any experience programming? I didn't know Java either, but after playing around with it a little, it is very similar to C#. Probably the best way to learn is to download Android Studio and just play around with it.

I do not have any experience in programming yet, thanks for your tip.

I've heard that Oracle has posted tutorials on YouTube, but I heard that a few years ago so I have no idea if that is still the case.

Have you tried this site?
http://www.codecademy.com/java-codecademy

Although you may want to get a Java development environment on your own machine, which is what you really need to try things out, and a proper book on the subject. Rather than just looking at website tidbits.
