Apps Learning to make themes/apps

I'm hoping someone can show me how to make a theme via you tube or a website and also for making apps and what programs. I want to give to the community some of the ideas that i have

Hi ......

A worthy goal. I'm going to move your post to the developer's forum so you can get feedback from where all this happens.

I can tell you where everything is located that you might want to theme. Just write a list and I'll type the directory. (Not in PM, full)

Im new to this, but im looking to gain any info that will help get me to my goal of learning how to program my own apps and create themes. So any info you can show/teach, id be willing to learn.

I don't know anything about apps (would like to learn as well) but I can show you some things on themeing.

What would you like to test on?

Everything..... if your willing to teach me how.... I know zero about making themes, like i said im willing to learn anything about this.

What are you looking to theme?

When I get home later I'll upload and send you some things to practice on. Rosie, notification bar, ect. And explain it all.

What type of programs do i need to start making a theme? do i need Adw launcher?

If that's the launcher you want to theme then yeah.

EDIT: Here's a zip for the stock notification bar - http://www.megaupload.com/?d=NM9QC9KT

If it's Adw launcher that your wanting to theme

Here's the directory - System/framework/com.htc.resources.apk/drawable-port-hdpi (I believe this is correct, if by some chance it isn't, it's in one for the drawables, either what I stated or drawable-hdpi)

As for the notification bar (the files I sent you)

Are located in - system/framework/framework-res.apk/res/drawable-hdpi (with many others)

Download either Photoshop or Gimp. I personally use Photoshop (Gimp is a pina)

No, open it up and that's where you'll find all the pngs to theme.

I've only done roise (sense launcher) I can send you that as well?

Alright ill do that, when i was looking at it i was on my phone using a file manager, yes could you send me something that your using so if i need help or troubleshoot any issues i maybe come across you can help me.

I'm coming across a issue trying to find this path, maybe cause im not using the correct program, Is there a program i should be using? or can i use windows to go through my phones system files?

well you give me the notification bar, i'm looking for icons if i can do that, when the phone boots up like animation, etc

All the icons in the apk (browser, market, ect.) are either titled

Example location - browser.apk/res/drawable-hdpi (all will be this directory)

- icon

- app_icon

- ic_launcher_example

For boot animation, in all ROMs it's named bootanimation.zip and it's located in

- System/Customize/Resource
