Leather belt holster for S3 with Otterbox Commuter

Hi Guys,

I've done a search, but I haven't found my answer.

I prefer to carry my GS3 on my belt. There's no room in my pockets.

I started with the case and holster that I got at the Verizon dealer. I forget the name of it. The holster was a hard plastic and the phone / case slipped into it.

I had a problem with the phone getting easily knocked out. Once it got knocked out without me knowing it. I lost the phone, but someone turned it into lost and found at the hockey rink (I'm a hockey dad), so I got it back. PHEW!

Then I got an Otterbox Commuter case and a Seidio Active Holster. I like the Commuter case. And the Seidio holster looked pretty robust. But, I ran into the same problem... phone popping out and falling to the floor. Once again at a hockey tournament, the damned thing fell out unbeknownst to me. It is NOT a good feeling to lose a phone. Luckily... AGAIN... someone turned it in. Hockey people are good folks. But, after that, I ***t-canned the Seidio holster.

Back when I had my Blackberry Storm, I used a leather holster with a magnetic closure. It worked great. I'd like that kind of holster that would accommodate the GS3 with the Commuter case. I've searched Amazon, but the only ones I've seen look really cheap (and not very good reviews).

Alrighty... lay some good info on me, please!

Thanks!

Hi, I use the PDair Vertical leather case with belt clip, it is well made and although it is open at the top there is no chance your phone will fall out, a nice real leather case, not cheap but worth it. Phil

Hi Racer88,

Our ACTIVE holster works with our ACTIVE case and we cannot guarantee that it will be compatible with another manufacturer's product. Sorry for the inconvenience!

No inconvenience. I knew what I was getting. I tooks my chances. I got it based on others' recommendations that (despite not being designed for the Otterbox) it fit pretty nicely. And, it does fit quite well. I'm not asking for any guarantees. But, it is my opinion that the release tab just gets pushed (inadvertently) too easily, releasing the phone. Just not going to work for me.

So, I'm looking for a horizontal leather, pouch-style holster that will fit with the Commuter case (which I do like).

Thanks, Phil. I went to their website and found a really nice looking horizontal holster (which is what I want), but it definitely looks like it is designed for a bare phone. No way it will accommodate the Commuter case.
