Apple won't confirm rumors of new LeBron James iPhone

SAN FRANCISCO (AP): During a news conference on Friday, Apple CEO Steve Jobs refused to confirm reports of the company's much-rumored new LeBron James style iPhone. Jobs stated only that Apple is planning to release a new line of "celebrity-branded electronic devices" in the near future.

The new phone, whose official name is still unknown, has reportedly been codenamed 'iKing' by Apple's internal product development team. Rumors indicate that Apple may plan to price the phone at $666 initially, a tribute to the NBA star's uniform number.

An Apple employee, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the device would be "so much more capable than today's current smart phone." And why not? According to the leaked specs, the new phone (like LeBron himself) is stacked with talent.

The 'iKing' is smaller than Apple's current iPhone 4, but "it will have more power and speed" than other devices with similar dimensions. It is also rumored to be a phone that can support today's highest speed mobile data networks, such as LTE, and beyond. Some rumors indicate that the phone was designed not just for 4G, but for 5, 6 and 7 G networks.

Though the interwebs are all atwitter with rumors, loyal fans of Apple and LeBron James may have a long wait ahead of them. There have been reports that delays in the manufacturing process have forced Apple to push back the original release date at least until the next NBA season.

"The 'iKing' still has some issues," our source confirmed. "The actual cause of the problems is not known at this time, but the device behaves erratically under our standard stress response tests." When asked to explain further, the source stated that the device simply turns off when the battery reaches 25%, for reasons that are, as of yet, undetermined. "It's like there's just nothing left in the last quarter" of the battery, he said. In addition, there are reports that the phone only works in vibrate mode. When the phone is set to normal "it just sits there," he laughed. "They've tried all types of audio files, they've tried calling and calling, but no matter what they can never get a ring."

How horrible, the number I hate most in the world. How can they use the number of the beast as a tribute price? I thought people who say that Apple is evil are being silly, but now I wonder...

its just a number. I was born on july 13. When I had my 13th birthday it was on a friday. I lived through that supposed bad luck day. to go further I was the 13th grandchild and it was a 113 degrees outside when I was born. So I am full of 13's

so whats the big deal of 666. Just because a book says its bad doesn't make it bad.

I lol'd at several points in the article, esp this part...
