LED color change

My led lights up blue four all notifications except text messages which are white. Is it supposed to be that way?

Not sure. Mine is blue for everything. Some US variants say they have purple notifications or multi coloured.

I use Light Manager to set what I want.

The Light Manager app lists the phones that it works with and to what degree. Seems to be problems depending on the phone being used. It also went on to say that there will be issues with the Jelly Bean update.

It's too bad that LED color notifications can't be a simpler issue to deal with.

Find yourself version 3.0.5 of the app Lightflow. DO NOT use the latest version 3.1.1 as it will kill your battery in about 4 or 5 hours.

3.0.5 is the only stable version for US S3's and it works well.

I've noticed that most apps don't seem to be able to change the notification light to the correct color. Like I wanted Watchdog to make it Red when it alerted for something eating too much CPU, but if I set it to Red, it makes it blue. Just started going thru all the colors it had listed, and finally found that setting it to Cyan actually makes it Red. My Friendcaster alert color is Purple although the app says it should be Green. It's also supposed to flash, but just stays on solid. Seems that the GS3 notification light doen't play well with apps that use it for some reason.

I think this differs for models too. I know light manager used to have that issue on international but now each colour is correct, but on other models its not fixed (I think).

I've never understood why LED colours isn't built into android and standardised between OEM's... It really shouldn't be this big a deal (as someone said earlier)

For the light manager app to work, i take it that it has to run at all times? So it uses your batter up all day? Or can you set what colours you like to work with out having to run the app all day, much like setting ringtones etc?

The app runs in the background although it seems to need root on Jellybean. If the app is working correctly, it should use so little CPU that it will not even show up on your battery stats page.

Do you know where to find the 3.0.5 version? In the google play store they only offer the 3.1.1 version.

Thanks!
