LED Color?

I am new to the forums, but have spent a good time reading, there is some great info here and this is by far the best droid site out there.

Now on to my question, is it possible to change the LED color notification? It seems like no matter what it always stays green.

The LED on your trackball? Mine's white...it's never been another color. So I don't know.
 
as far as i know the only colors for the little LED on the Eris are red, green and amber. the moto Droid could do several other colors and there were apps in the market that would allowe you to assign different colors for different things. but they don't seem to do anything on the Eris, presumably because there are only the 3 colors (one of which - amber - i think is a combo of the other two - red and green).
 
I've heard 2 things about the notification LED.

1 - It can only do Amber, Green and Red.

2 - It can do other colors, but the hook in the 1.5 ROM is messed up so apps such as handcent can't change it.

I tend to believe #1 though.
