LED Light Problems

Since I have updated to 2.1 my LED notification light does not seem to work. Is anyone else having this problem and know how to fix this?

The LED will only work when the screen is off. You have a notification (top left) when screen is on. I like it better this ways, no more annoying blinking when I am involved with something else. If I forget and turn screen off the LED will blink to remind me.

This new way makes sense but I still prefer the old way because I am stubborn :D

Ive managed to read text without actually "reading" them, then lock the phone only to have the LED start going off again. It was nice having that reminder the text wasn't officially read before locking the phone.

I get LED notifications with the screen off or on using the Cyanogen 2.1 ROM. Yes, it requires root, but the feature is pretty important to me since I run my phone on silent at work, while in a dock.

Your low battery red LED still works with screen on. If you still want the LED, you can get apps like call reminder that still work with screen on.

So is there no way to get the LED notifications while the phone is docked now that we updated to 2.1? Is that something we've just given up on?? How else am i supposed to know if i have a notification if the phone is docked and i have the night mode on??

Yep same here with the rom. Also whats cool is you can change the color of the led when the screen is on. I have mine sometimes purple or cyan depending on my mood. Also for people who say who looks at the led when the screen is on i can understand that response but for me i travel on the train and let say i am playing homerun derby on mute(Respecting the people ofcourse), the whole screen is covered so i have no notification bar or sound to hear. So helps alot with many apps that cover the whole screen to have the light blink so i know theres a msg waiting for me especially when i am commuting in the mornings and afternoon.
