LED not working.

So today i went to try blink to change the LED color well thats when i noticed i haven seen my led go on when i get updates/calls/power on/off and text.
Only when i charge my phone do i actually see the LED go on.
So wtf??
Is their a setting i clicked to turn it off it worked fine on 1.6 but know that ive flashed to 2.1 i no longer have it.
 
When it doubt you can run the service test to see if it still works:

To access the service menu from the lock slider screen:

(It's now the middle 'home' key instead)
So it's Home, Back, Back, Home, Back, Home, Home, Back.

Then go to Service tests -> LED/Illumination
You should see the LED notifier cycle between RED/GREEN/BLUE
 
I don't think Blink works with 2.1, or at least not as well as it did with 1.6. The reviews on the market are pretty rubbish now, which is a shame but I am guessing that the dev hasn't worked it up properly to work with 2.1 / 2.2 (in our dreams!!)

I ditched it.

Its working know and correctly on 2.1 think it had something to do with my case.Also i have to drill a hole in my case so i can see the led with it on.Also is their a front face camera on this phone?If not what the hell it the thing next to the led?
 
I think that is the proximity sensor. I wondered too cos my screen protector has a cut out there.

I may try downloading Blink again then and see if it works on mine.

Well i suppose it might be a sensor its strange though their are 2 things their would've been nice to have a camera their.Although it does make me wounder why theirs a facial recognition system that runs unless thats just for are 8mp camera?
 
Yeah I think the face recognition thing is only for the camera altho not entirely sure of its worth... doesn't always pick up faces in Mediascape even tho the pictures are virtually identical. Another one of those great ideas that doesn't quite come off in reality.

Thats what we get for not spending a billion dollars for a phone worth something.lol.But who care anyway its one hell of a nice camera.:)
 
The thing that looks like a tiny camera is a light sensor, used in 1.6 to adjust screen brightness and also to turn the screen off during a phone call (1.6 and 2.1).

As for face recognition, it always worked ok but I had no use for it and battery life was improved by uninstalling it so it doesn't come on anymore.

Back on topic, Blink works brilliantly now on 2.1, I actually find it better than 1.6 because the light blinks a little faster, so its easier to see I have a notification.

Yes and i love the color.
 
I just downloaded Blink yesterday becausre I switched to GoSMS from Handcent and it does not have the blinking LED function. Blink is working perfectly on my 2.1
 
I have a problem with the blink app. It doesn't Work with Incoming Calls !!! I mean when someone calls me, the led doesn't blink, but other than that is great, just with incoming calls, can someone help me

I got that, but the problem is that when someone is calling it should blink, otherwise why would there be a blink option for INCOMING CALLS. because once the call is off, the missing call blink appears, which is obvious. But when someone calls ,the screens is off, and it should blink !! or what is the meaning of that option ?

Yes but when someone calls the screen turns on and the blinking will stop.

Exactly what I was thinking. Ok, so basically it won't blink when somene calls, because the scrren inmediatly turns on. Such a shame, it should blink even with screen on. Thank you very much for the info !!!

Well if you think about it the phone turning on would be better then a LED but the LED does start blinking if you shut the screen off after it turned on without answering the call then it turns to the missed call LED (Thats if you just ignored the person and didn't answer).
