Help Led notification too slow between blinks

You mean turn it on and look at it? That would sort of defeat the purpose of an LED notification, wouldn't it? The reason the LED is on a phone is so that you can glance at the phone to determine if you need to bother to "look at it."

i agree with you. no need for us GS2 users to look like an iphone crackhead always looking at thier phone every 5mins to see of they have a missed call or text.:)

Ok, just look at it longer then :p I counted 6 seconds between blinks. Thats too long for you to wait? Wow.

I agree that the blink rate is too slow. And it's not six seconds between blinks but actually 10 seconds, and that's not going to catch your attention if you glance at the phone for a few seconds. THAT'S why 10 seconds is too long. If your going to have to wait 10 seconds, you might as well just look at the notifications tray, and that defeats the purpose of having the notification light in the first place. It should blink once every three seconds, like my old TP2 did.

I agree. Three seconds is about right. The object of the LED is to glance at it and move on. Staring at your phone for 6 or 10 seconds defeats the purpose of the LED notification. Samsung clearly didn't understand this.

Wait, the 10 second blink is only for emails and missed calls. You guys really get that many emails to your phone that this is an issue? When I am away from my phone thinking I might have missed a call, I pick it up and look at it. When you get a text, it stays lit up and doesn't blink at all...Again, if this is such a huge issue, please take your phone back and stop crying because Samsung doesn't care and neither do we.

In my line of work, emails are more important than texts.

....stop crying because Samsung doesn't care....

Somehow, I am quite positive you don't speak for Samsung.

....stop crying because Samsung doesn't care and neither do we.

I find your self-importance quite hilarious. It always appears narcissistic and a bit psychotic when someone refers to himself in the third person "we."

And if this thread bothers you so much, why don't you just stop crying about what other people find important. Make like a banana and go away.

Isn't this post the very reason for the existence of this forum? Ask a question, get an answer(s).

The OP has a valid point and pretty much everyone but you agrees with him, but your advise is that he quit crying and goes back to his old phone? Not too helpful. There are apps out there designed to do just what he wants. Why do you suppose they're out there?

There are some people who put up with the merely "good enough." There are others who insist on perfection.

That is the difference between Apple and Microsoft. If Samsung wants to move toward having the best product possible, they would certainly "care" about something as simple as the LED indicator.

At one point, Steve Jobs nearly died from pneumonia and remained hospitalized.

"But he survived, and didn't lose his stubbornness, even while deeply sedated. He thought the oxygen monitor on his finger was "ugly and too complex," and offered ideas for making the design simpler." (From Steve Jobs by Walter Isaacson.)

Say what you will about Apple and Steve Jobs, but what makes a product great are the little things. (Like a silly LED indicator light.)

You mean the same iPhone that doesn't even have an indicator light? Just stop already, please.

That's not my point. Obviously, the light interfered with Jobs' idea of aesthetics. Samsung has the light, but has made it useless. The minor point is that no indicator light is better than one that is useless. The actual point is that no issue should be so minor as to not care about it. But I don't really think you have the capacity for understanding this.

No, I get it and for most of us, the light is plenty useful. It doesn't work for YOU and thats fine but as I said, crying about it here won't do you or us any good. Simply return your phone and move on ok? Thanks

This is my first phone with a LED indicator. Now that I have it and see how useful it is, I'm always going to want it. In my job I get a lot of text messages throughout the day but I work out of an office. It gets annoying for my phone to constantly make a sound notification every time and I'm sure my co-workers do not appreciate it. Now with the led I get notified almost right away, no sound and no constantly turning my phone on to check. I love it.

The led indicator is waaay slow in it's blinking process and almost useless as is. I've installed Blink and it works wonders for me. Extremely limited in what it can do on this phone but it does just what I need it to.

I have't missed any messages either but that's because I would check my phone instead of staring at it waiting to see if it blinked. The Blink app pretty much just lights up the led light continuously for me and then blinks as opposed to it being off and blinking, if that made any sense.

Hmm, I get notifier sounds just fine. I usually turn it to silent during the day and then back on with vibrate when I get off work.

It seems like a lot of people just don't understand that a blinking light tends to catch your attention. This is why the emergency flashers in your car BLINK instead of having steady light. But they sure don't blink at once every 12 seconds, do they. No, they are much faster. The LED notifier on the SGS2E4GT needs to blink faster if it's to be useful as a message indicator.

I also wanted to change the color of the led, bit more importanly than color for me I would like for it to blink faster. I have handcent and so I changed the color of the led to white like I read earlier with the other app and now I get a fast blinking led, but it is red, not my choice of color but I can now just glance at my phone and know if I have a message or not.
