Help Leelbox MXQ

Lurker
I have the MXQ tv box with Kodi and would like to change the video app shortcuts.
When I change them and turn the box off - it restarts with the original apps again.
How can I save my changes?

You'll have to be more specific...

What are you changing them into?
How many Kodi shortcuts are you changing?
Are you adding Kodi shortcuts to places?
How do you turn off your box - with the remote or do you pull the cord at the back?

If you tell us what you are doing exactly it will be easier to understand your problem and try to come up with an answer.

Hi Andrew, thanks for your response.......
I was changing 3 of the set ones into alternative addon shortcuts, eg 1channel to sports devil etc as well as adding a couple more as I have the option of having 25 short cuts.
I have just purchased 3 of these boxes and somehow managed to reconfigure one of them but 'don't know how'???

If honest I can't remember if I've used the on/off button on the remote or used the screen off button but I didn't pull the cable out.

Hope this helps you to analyse what I'm doing wrong.
Thanks
Sandy

Ah.. I thought you were talking about the Android box shortcuts on the home screen (and the folders on it.)

What version of Kodi are you running?
I'm guessing that it's 15.2 as you have 'set shortcuts' presumably from the installation that the manufacturer did, right?

If you are running 15.2 then to have a faster running Kodi and a more customizable one, to boot, you'll have to uninstall it and re-install version 16.1 from the Google Play Store.
You won't be able to save your settings if you do this, but I'm assuming that this won't be an issue.
(The versions look the same but there are a lot of good changes 'under the hood' so to speak.)

I don't know why your custom shortcuts revert back to the stock installation version, but I'll bet that this issue goes away with the fresh install of the newer version.

I bought one of these boxes, too, and Kodi 15.2 performed irrationally for me, as well.
