Hi!
My gf has a Lenovo A60, bought from etotalk, that just will not act like it should.
It will reboot for no apparent reason. Sometimes coming up with an "enter PIN" prompt, effectively making it useless for incoming calls.
It will suddenly stop taking calls, needing a reboot.
It's slow to the point of it being useless to have apps on (well ok, that might be hardware).
I've flashed 3-5 different ROMs, all provided from etotalk, and none solve this issue.
Now they're asking me to repartition the sdcard and add a swap partition. Will that solve my issues? Is it just a low memory problem?
I would like to return the phone but finding a permanent solution would be simpler than persuading etotalk that they should take it back...
What I've tried:
Restarting the phone every night
Task killing (at the recommendation of etotalk)
Flashing ROMs like a madman...
To etotalk's credit, the phone does work slightly better than when we received it, at least now it won't pop up force close messages for five minutes after booting.
I'm on official Lenovo firmware s188 with etotalk's multi language addon, rooted.
Hardware version 60 if I've understood how to tell which version it is. (S/N starts with 42060)
I have some Linux skills, so go technical on me if you want.
What options do I have?
Is there more info I can provide?
Do the custom ROMs YONIP or Lewa fix any of these issues? I just want a stable phone that is reliably connected to the carrier, doesn't feel like too much to ask.
Of note, both sim cards are connected to the same carrier, not sure if this matters. I've told etotalk about it but they haven't mentioned any issues with it.
