i came across this phone and noticed it has a huge battery.

why is it so cheap when you purchase it at full retail?

i noticed you can buy it for less than $300 on ebay new.

is this phone junk?

thanks

Only does 3G HSDPA 900 / 2100. A kind of "year before last" phone.Even with the extra battery life (I carry a spare 3200mA battery in my pocket, so I have more than it has), it's a lot of money for the phone you get.

thanks for the clarification.

obviously 4G is a must for most users.

based on those specs, i agree the phone is priced high.

Lenovo phones are actually very good, I've got one. Price of that phone seems fine to me for what it is. Maybe a bit cheaper here. It's because you're buying it directly from China for the full unsubsidised price. Phones here are not subsidised by carriers, unlike the US. Top-end phones like the S4 can be over $700 here, and the iPhone 5s is over $1,000.

Few things to bare in mind when importing phones from China.
1) It may not have LTE or the American cellular bands. Europe uses same bands as China, so not a problem here.
2) Quite likely it won't have Google apps and services. It'll have Chinese apps and services.
3) If it goes wrong and you need service, very likely you'll have to send it back to China for repair.

So best to consider and check specs very carefully before you order. One thing the P780 is GSM HSDPA and notice that your carrier is Verizon Wireless, so that would be a problem.

Lenovos are only generally available in Asia AFAIK, apart from Motorola now.
