Lesson learned

Before doing a factory reset, make sure Verizon's system is working properly. I found out the hard way that Verizon's activation/billing system is down. Had to do a factory reset today because my phone was acting up. When I went to re-activate, I was sent to customer service and told that the system was down and to call back in about an hour. Long story short, I have now been told to try again in the morning. In the mean time, I have a fabulous WiFi device, but no ability to make or receive calls.:( I can only hope it's up and running before I leave my house in the morning, as my mobile is my only means of contact during the day.
Lesson learned.

Well that is a pain cmybliss, I hope it got activated for you this morning. I guess they figure if they are going to have down time the best time to do it is the middle of the night but it still isn't acceptable.

Thanks folks! It's all up and running now. I'm Just surprised it was down as long as it was, what with billing on the line. One thing's for sure, I'll be checking to see they're up and running next time I have to do a reset.

This is normal. VZW takes down their billing systems around midnight to perform routine maintenance.

The issue I was having was not a normal one. 3 different reps told me the system had crashed, and they'd never known it to be down that long. Happily, they got it fixed,if not in a timely manner, before I had to start my day.
