Root Let the development begin!

I'm hoping for a deodexed v5 rom, for the performance. Deodex roms are smaller and can be "customized" easier than odex ones, in my experience. I'm a retired Windows C++ tech, and I've only recently started learning about Android. I can't help much, but I can loudly cheer on anyone willing to try!

Hey, just bought the phone myself for VM and it's great. So far haven't found a Lollipop ROM yet. I came close but not sure if the source was legit. Either way now that the Tribute 2 just came out with LP stock, I'm wondering if that means an LP ROM won't be far behind!?!

Not to sure where to put this but im trying to get my link2sd to work iv got 2 partitions on my sd one in fat32 on on ex2 but when i try to move the apps it says they are moved but their still on my internal memory not actually on the partitions like there supposed to be anyone able to help get itworking

Well when using link2sd you want fat 32 & ext4 for your 2 partitions, you posted fat32&ext2. That could very well be the reason why the apk wouldn't link properly. Hope I helped somewhat.

I made the first fat32 with an ext4 and it said it was linked but it still wasn't its still on the actual internal not the partition

NOTE: NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR DATA LOSS. THIS PROCESS WILL ERASE ALL DATA ON EXTERNAL SD CARD.

Couple of questions/suggestions that hopefully will help.
  1. What type micro-SD are you working with. Not so much brand, though it could be part of the issue, but what class?
  2. Are you formatting via phone or computer?
  3. If you have access to a PC I highly recommend going that route so that you can perform all partitioning 'outside of phone' to ensure no accidental issues arise.
  4. If you have access to a PC take a look at the free MiniTool Partition (http://www.partitionwizard.com/)
  5. As @mjhealy1978 indicated make your primary Fat32 and your 2nd partition ext4. Also make both partitions 'logical' This will make more sense when you are working with the program.
When creating ext4 partition ignore pop-up that states windows will not be able to use ext4 or see it.

Once complete reinsert card back into phone.

Boot phone then access Link2SD. This should present a screen indicating extended partition to use, select ext4 and then follow prompts to reboot.

After reboot launch Link2SD and work with settings as you like to have info linked. You will need to multi-select and link the applications you want.

I would suggest not linking any system files of other important files (ex. google play) in case your SD card has issues.

I hope this info assists. It is a process I have followed many times with good results.
