Root Let's Get CM Onto Avant!

Let's not give up people! Try everything in the book! If you come across any other issues that have yet not been mentioned please post!

Now I know which apps our safe to convert to to system and apps safe to uninstall. I didn't have any issues on the stock ROM. But when I tried converting some user apps on this CM ROM. 50% of them would go corrupted. Even with a clean cache app.

That is not an issue with the ROM. Apps like titanium backup and root uninstaller can be unreliable for stuff like that. The most reliable way to convert a user app to a system app is to use a root file manager. First you go to /data/app and copy the app that you want to convert, then go to /system/app and paste it there. The permissions should already be set to rw r r but if they aren't then you will need to change them. Next you need to uninstall the app you just copied to the system(or you can just move it instead of copying it).
You also need to look inside the apk and see if it contains any lib files. If it does you will need to extract those and put them in /system/lib with the permissions set to rw r r. Apps that contain and rely on lib files, like Google Chrome, will not work properly as system apps unless you extract the libs they need and put em in /system/lib.

Thanks for heads up man! I was aware of that route, but did lazy style lol. I guess will have to fellow your route. Corrected my last post. Back to the phone for me. Looking at everything for any bugs to report. Let's do this people!
 
I can try and do something with the lag try changing the govener or modifying it ... In trickstermod disable mpdecision and mess around with the kernal settings ....I know powerHAL is probly also responsible for the lag its a matter of how the phone scales the frequency from screen off to screen on to what workload is being put on the CPU

Already tried the core2 not compatible its hard finding a similar phone with the same camera witch would need changes to the kernal and the mmcamera***.so files
 
I found cm12.1 for the grand 2 we should be able to easily port this Rom with some modifications since the avant and the grand2 are the same CPU and specs .... Won't fix the bugs but i can attempt to port this rom so we can at least have lollipop Im currently 300mi away from home so I can't get to a computer with Linux on it

I screwed around with the kernel in trickster mod and nothing seems to make the lag go away. I did notice turning mpdecision off made the phone snappier but still lagged on the waking up off the phone
 
Also, I haven't checked, but is there a launcher included in the file? I have no default launcher when I wipe the phone, as I deleted it to save space and replaced it with another.
