Let's keep those dusty words alive

If you live in a mountainous region, krummholtz is still a common word. The NPS uses it for ancient Bristlecone pines (usually) at treeline. Some are over 1,000 years old.

If you want hoodoos, go to Goblin Valley in Utah. Almost every rock is a hoodoo. We have a couple in the Garden of the Gods.

The swastika was used by native Americans. Quilters still know the pattern as fylfoot, usually spelt flyfoot.

Favorite glacier related term is "roche moutennée." Glaciers also leave kettles and "pater noster" lakes.
 
The only word i can think of are two combined current words "Dusty Days". This was how me and my bros used to start out conversations when talking about back when we were kids....."Hey Rico ANDROID! Remember back in "dusty days" when we used to......"
