I would think there would need to be some sort of agreement...otherwise it would just randomly be like "Why are you kissing me!?" Although I can think of a few situations where that wouldn't be bad...

well thats not what i was completely getting at.....random bar hookup dont exactly get that label. obviously it just is given the label after a while. back in the 50's or whatever wasnt it something like "do you wanna go steady?"

Yeah I think so I don't think it is as formal now but there would still seem to be an agreement required...at least "I like you" wait for confirmation...if you get confirmation change FB status (yes that social networking thing I suck at...) otherwise it seems have multiple GF/BF would be rampant...I think it might be called "talking" or something like that...I really don't know...
