Under backup and restore in settings there is an option to back up the phone, a stock LG feature. I tried it, very simple to use and quick way to transfer stuff from one LG phone to another. BUT.... I discovered something that might mislead people. It appears that it does not back up .dng versions of photos, if you shoot in raw. I backup up all my media to an sd card then put it in the other phone and restored, and all I got were .jpegs! Luckily I did not erase the original phone. I only save raw images for the highest quality. People might think they are getting a good backup and lose valuable photos!
Is it like this by design? I cannot find any setting to tell it to backup .dng. The application has no settings. Why would LG do this?
The onlyreal way I can find to back up photos is to plug it into my computer and copy. Most of the backup apps don't do photos.
