LG Connect coming soon will you make the switch?

I too was sad to see that Metro decided to EOL our beloved (hated? lol) Indulge. I have had a lot of fun following (and where I could, supporting) it's development. The Indulge was my first Android phone and I will always have fond memories of logging into IRC from my laptop from various bars and McDonalds because my main internet (the phone) was down for one reason or another. :D

I picked up a Nook Tablet and use that now for most things I did on my phone before (reading / doing research / web browsing, checking email, etc.). In fact, other than the actual phone functions, I basically use my phone as a modem nowadays. It's just so much nicer (more screen real estate, etc.) to work using the tablet.

I plan on keeping my Indulge until it dies, as I paid the full $400 for it when it first came out, and it still suits my needs just fine. Alas, as it is now EOL, so sooner or later I will need to find a replacement. Also, many friends and family always ask me to recommend a Metro phone, so that has brought me back here to get current on the latest offerings again.

I will watch to see how development comes along on these new phones. One of the biggest reasons I have stayed with the Indulge all along has been because of the development support we (eventually) received. So going forward, I will look to see what k0 (and others?) are doing before deciding on my next phone. Where the developers go, I will follow. For without them, we will only ever have whatever crap the carriers decide to foist upon us.

i made the switch a few days ago. wow what a difference! its so much faster i don't have to wait for anything like i used to with the indulge. i used to have to restart my indulge at least twice a day, don't need to any more.
