I have been using an app called "Zedge" to download all of my notification ringtones and I have never had any issues with getting the newly downloaded sounds to be my notification sound. However yesterday I finally got tired of what I had so I downloaded a new sound and it said it was set as my new notification ringtone. But when I get a text message what plays is a default ringtone called "Acoustic Guitar". I have tried to switch the ringtone to a different default but it's still stuck on "Acoustic Guitar". I have tried uninstalling the app, restarting my phone, uninstalling all of the custom ringtones I had on my phone but no matter what I try it seems to be stuck on "Acoustic Guitar".

Hello and welcome to the forums. I do the same but u have to move that tone u downloaded from that zedge folder are you rooted

No I'm not rooted. Which folder do I move it to?

Just move to SD card and you want to select that as your notification sound

Sorry this is probably going to annoy you, but how do I do that? I have never had to do that before.

Try and set the tone without and make sure it sticks and reboot
