Lg esteem metropcs miami users getting 3-4g?

This LG esteem loses compared to the other new phones but wins monthly with its unlimited 4g. I've heard all but bad things till recently about their 3g. Now I've seen a post here or there that say they are getting 4g in certain area's of Miami.

I would like to hear from more of you from Miami users. The more detailed the better. I like to hear more specially around kendall and FIU.

The other option I was thinking about which is the cheapest was Tmobile with galaxy SII but after a certain usage it drops down to 2g every month. If any of you have taken this option I'd love to hear about it too.

I live at 2 blocks from FIU, have 4G from 2-4 bars ALL THE TIME even inside my house. Miami Beach 4G, Kendall 4G, Coral Gables 4G, Doral 4G, Fisher island 4G, Downtown 4G, Miramar 4G.

It might be because of your coverage area, if not try these....

you may try resetting your PRL via phone by calling *228, and then have them update your current PRL (preferred Roaming List) or press number 5 to update.

I tried QPST and was not successful, so I used CDMA Workshop 2.7. Really easy and straight forward.

This is totally random. i posted this cuz i have multiple tabs open and i hit reply on the wrong tab. im too lazy to find out if i can even erase my post. :D

*228 only took me to 3019... I couldn't get QPST to work and I'm still hoping for a solution to that -- I tried with two machines. Others are telling me they don't even need to install drivers to use QPST, so I don't know...

Yeah as far as I know is required for you to have the LG esteem driver installed so you can flash the new prl.

and what is the problem with it??

Coverage in miami is pretty good as long as you update your prl from what I've seen.
You could also buy a t-mobile phone then activate it on the t-mobile/walmart monthly 4g using one of their sim cards (its like 5 bucks) its 5gb data, unlimited messaging, but there is only 100 minutes talk time :/ but that's at 29.99 a month and its prepaid, there's better plans I think you should look into it ;)
 
I live in Hialeah and go to FIU every single day. The 4g speeds are decent. Not great but decent. I get about 2 mbps. Personally i rather log into the school's network and use the wifi. i do get a consistent 4g signal though. I am happy to say that my LG esteem doesn't have any of the problems i heard people here writing about.
 
I live near the airport. I usually have all the bars or 3 bars. Sometimes it turns into 2 bars but I've noticed that hardly ever.

My PRL is at 3019.

Did a speed test, with a server from Pensacola, FL.

Download: 1851 kbps
Upload: 1619 kbps
Ping: 127ms
 
I actually am a student at FIU. I always have 4G at FIU and all over Miami. metro's 4G is good in Miami. It's by no means like verizon's but for $50 a month, its perfect.
 
I just wanted to know because from the previous posts, it seemed that FL didn't really have good reception.

Or maybe it depends on the city
 
Well after the update at first I gotten low and average 1~2 mb. But now I'm getting constant 3.4+~mbs

I was at Florida over a week ago and I never seemed to get 3G or 1x anywhere. I had 4G with two stable bars at West Palm Beach heading down south I've had 3 to 4 bars 4G in Miami. Tampa 4G, Orlando 4G all other else was was ok. I did notice metro users who had 1x now says 3G which is weird but it's the same thing anyways.

1x is 3G. But Metro's EvDo is "capped" at their 1x speeds pretty much.

Florida has great 4G coverage, I live in central Fl and travel south to Vero and all the way down to West Palm and to the NW of me to Orlando on a regular basis and I have yet to see it be on 1x or 3G

I'm traveling up to ocala for Christmas and I don't think they have 4g :-(
 
I live on the west side of the turnpike between 8th and Coral Way. About 2 miles or so from FIU. I got 4G/sometimes 3G (used QPST to push 3025) and when in Florida City way way EAST (on the coast line everyday just about it goes from 1X/3G/4G {all depends on the weather}) but I was doing Skype VIDEO while on the turnpike yesterday @5pm when stuck in traffic because of a accident before the Bird Road exit.
I like the 4G speed, never have a problem.
Also someone posted going to Ocala @ Christmas time...I'm going to Dunnellon. That far away from Ocala I only get signal when outside the house (1x/3G/4G and talk) but inside got wi-fi.
As far as I can tell, you can get 4G anywhere in South Florida.
When using QPST you have to select a different setting in the drop down list (forgot which one but just look thru the forums and the answer is there, Google QPST Esteem......Google is your friend) :p
I pushed 3025 to my wife's LG Optimus M and she get 3G just about all the time, better reception @ MDC inside the buildings too. I have read where 3026 PRL is kinda sucky, but 3025 is the best so far.

Hey this it my first time posting just wanted to let every one no that in Brandon i have been getting 4 to 6mgbs download and4 to 5 up i use spotted test.net :Dfrom market
