Root Lg f60 metro pcs

hugerichman
"Are you guys talking about the lg optimus f60 or just the lg f60 because those are both different phones if you didnt notice."

While LG announced the handset as simply F60, MetroPCS is calling it LG Optimus F60™ (MS395).

Available as:
LG F60 D390N with single SIM
LG F60 Dual D392 with dual SIM

Ls660 ,ls660p , Lgms395 , and D393 all have msm8226 processor
D390 D390N and D392 have msm8916 they have L now we are still waiting.
This thread was dedicated to metro version, but I don't mind other posting as we have similar firmware and most likely an exploit would work for all versions.

Guys and gals, apparently there is an official Lollipop rom that one can manually flash on the international F60(D390N). It's detailed here in this XDA thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/help/lg-f60-d390n-t2930803/page12 . This means we might see a Lollipop update pushed to our phones in the not too distant future.
This its legit.... Lollipop but for Europe.... Its a bit... Hazard for us here in US... And even if we can manage it... Its still no root for it. So why having L with out Root.?... I rather hav Root then KK, or L....
Cus with root we can build LRom for US.

I agree but, I'm kind of curious what improvements they'll be if we do get a US F60 Lollipop release.

From the comments in that thread it's faster. I think we will get an update as soon as the G3 gets its update in the US. This means the g3 will now have a locked boot loader and no root method without downgrading. So hopefully some of their hackers come up with a method. I'm patiently waiting so I can build a ROM as soon as we get root and a way to flash images as our boot loader is locked.

To really see those improvements.. Go n play with a LG g3 or Nexus w/lollipop... The differences are the storage spaces. Cam qualities n hq screen ( flowing screens) but the rest its still the same. Of course we hav quad-core on 1.2 and we can overclock to 2.2

Woah. You can safely overclock the A7 cpu core to 2.2Ghz?!

Well to tell you the truth... All i need its root to find out. It has a quad-core... @ 1.2 so.. I think we can push it

Dear Derrick,

Hi! How are you? I hope you’re doing fine!

Thank you for contacting LG Electronics, USA!

For your reference, the model MS395 is manufactured by LG for MetroPCS. Once they have the phone, they locked it using a Subsidy Unlock Codes.

Subsidy Unlock Codes are placed on GSM devices by the carrier to make the phone incompatible with wireless services from other carriers. For example the phone is locked to AT&T; it cannot be used on the T-Mobile network without obtaining a SIM unlock. Furthermore, you will not be able to root it without unlocking it first form the original carrier. It is unfortunate that we do not have access to these codes.

With this, please contact MetroPCS at tel. nos. 1- 888-863-8768. Please tell them that you already contacted LG and will not able to provide you the Subsidy Unlock Code.

This was LGs response when I emailed support about the locked bootloader

Hmmm....Emails like that didn't stop anyone here from hijacking kernels on the rest of these little LG phones :D

If my wife didn't like her F60 so much I'd be on it already!

Anyone know of a way to freeze apps without root on this phone?

If the app doesn't have a Turn Off button in the app manager, no. This is the case with any phone or device, you need root to disable/freeze apps without this option. However there should be a bunch of built-in apps that you can turn off.

Yes, you can use built-in 'Disable' option on some of APPs.

Go to Setting -> Apps -> All -> Select each apps and see what you can disable. You may have to uninstall update as well.

Most of Metro Apps and some of Google Apps can be Disabled; I've disabled AppStore, Google Play Book, Google Play Movie, Music, Newstand, Lookout, Metro Zone etc..

In order to see the disabled Apps go to Setting -> Apps -> Disable, you can enable them later.

Need help... The only way my ph its recognize by all the root tools i hav is by putting ph on mpt or pnp... Any i deas?

Hello everyone. Pleasure to meet you all.

I just ran across this on the LG opensource website. It lists the kernel as well as 2 options for what I'm guessing is the ROM being it's over 400mb. Here is the link.

http://opensource.lge.com/osList/list?curPage=2&m=Mc001&s=

Just scroll down for a little bit on the second page of the list until you find LG MS395.

Could this help in getting a working root method?
Its a start... We can begin to built from source... N modify... But getting to run root... N stick would be a bit of work...

Just curious, anyone went to http://lg-phone-firmware.com/index.php?id_mod=119 ? Has a bunch of firmwares, I know none say US, however it shows v10d (someone mentioned their metro phone had that firmware, idk since I dont have the phone, yet, this process is what's holding me back

Edit: Actually relooking I didnt see a T-mobile/metro v10d, unless i missed it, my bad
