Help LG G Watch R won't (should?) Update?

So I have an LG G Watch R tethered to an LG G3 connected to AT&T, phone running Android 5.0.1. However, my LG G Watch R is running Android Wear 4.4W.2, and says it's "up to date." Is this correct?

I would really like to update, mostly for the custom watch faces available when you update to wear 5.0.
Also, I'm kind of new to the smartwatch world.

More stats:
Phone Android Wear App version: 1.0.5.1785466
Watch Android Wear App Version: 1.0.1.1522443
Watch Google Play services version: 6.1.74(1511752-534)
Google Play Services Version on Phone: 7.0.99(1809214-430)
Any questions, just ask.

Have you tried resetting the watch and re-pairing with the phone? Just a guess... it might kick-start the update. It did for my SW3, which displayed the same "up to date" message even though 5.0.2 had been released.

If not, and you feel adventurous, this XDA thread has a link to an update file that can be side-loaded via ADB.

Alright, thanks for the tip, I've tried resetting it a few times, but I will continue to tinker with it and see what happens. Also, can you side-load on the G-watch R? I was under the impression that the only updates are OTA.

So, it ended up fixing itself. I didn't want to go into the rooting stuff since I wasn't very knowledgeful in the area, so I waited. Once I moved back into my house from dorms, it updated. I think the wifi was blocking it? Maybe? I dunno, but now it's updated to 5.0.2
