Help LG G3 notifications

Lemonie

Lurker
I have made the leap from an iphone to android but have a problem with notifications. On the iphone I got a small red circle with a number in next to Facebook, Gmail etc when there were unread notifications or unread emails. I do not have this feature on the G3? I have a notifiation button but if I miss the incoming noise then unless I go looking I can't see at a glance that I may have an unread text message.

Am I doing something wrong as this seems a basic feature?

If you want to check your notifications, slide the pull down notification shade. Everything is there, all notifications will be listed. This is generally why Android doesn't have the icon counters, because you can check your notifications anywhere in the phone without looking at the app icon. If you still want those counters on the icons, you'll have to use a launcher that has that feature.

Thread moved to the LG G3 forum. :)

As to what Chanchan said, if you use a launcher such as Nova (free and paid) you can get those counters back for each app you choose to setup.
You will need to install TeslaUnread as an extension to Nova in order to get those counts. :)

I use Nova Prime (paid) with TeslaUnread on my Nexus 5. This setup is the closest I have found to iOS badges style notifications.

I swore that the gmail app had a counter when I first was using the G3 out of the box but it's gone now. Did I make this up?

No the gmail app doesn't have a counter. It's not needed since your notification will appear across the top. It's a very nice, handy system.
