LG G3 (VZW) Lollipop upgrade

I did it this morning. Wish I hadn't. Lots of bugs. Phone is noticeably slower & lags at times. Has frozen twice and needed a reboot. These are problems I've never had once since I got the phone last August. Also, I don't like what they've done with the notifications being on the lock screen and not in the notifications bar, and the stock swipe keyboard doesn't work. I'm kinda pissed.
 
Normally when you get an OTA OS upgrade, would recommend to back up your data and do a factory reset. Basically gives the OS to restart from scratch. That should fix your frozen issues.

Regarding keyboards, I never use stock keyboards, have been switching between swype and swiftkey.

Wife's GS4 got the update as well. Notification is a pain yes hopefully they might change it down the road you never know..

I don't mind switching to 5.01, but I want to root the phone so I can remove VZ junk
 
The lollipop update ruined my G3. I already did a factory reset and my phone is still having the same problems! WIFI connection is slow now, I dont get get any notifications anymore. My battery just drains! the phone is always hot by the power button and you can literally watch the battery drop. "Android system" is always at 18 to 20 something percent. My phone was just taken off the charger at 100 percent and battery usage says I have 5 hours left!!!!Something is killing my battery and I dont know what it is. Is anyone else having these problems?
 
Not vzw, but att, I had to delete messenger and FB, then reinstall. battery went back to normal drain. Also went to apps and disabled many that I don't use.
 
Battery doesn't last as long, Wi-Fi seems slower & Bluetooth keeps cutting out at times.....even after factory reset. Hoping they release a bug fix update soon.
 
Well I decided to go for i. Unrooted and let VZ OTA do its thing.. FDR and rooted the phone with one click root method..
Battery and Wifi is fine..
Bluetooth issue just with Moto 360 and hangouts getting messages late (which I am guessing it is due to Google play services?)
 
I found that changing my router settings ipv6 from auto detect to 6to4 tunnel fixed my notification issues. I'm still evaluating whether my battery is better or worse.

How does this affect other devices that connect to your router? Some computer nic cards require ipv6 default to operate.
 
Our network is probably like no other's. My ISP told me what I was doing was impossible, but we have been using it this way for close to ten years. I have a total of two switches, one wired router, and four wireless routers. One of the wireless routers is connected conventionally to my modem and this is the one I changed the settings on. All of the other routers have been configured as repeaters and have connections to the lan ports, and the switches are connected in a typical configuration. I believe that once I switched the first main router, that this setting is followed through by the other ones. I have a total of 8 PCs, 5 tablets, 6 smart phones, and 4 chromecasts running most of the time, and have not seen any problems after I made the setting changes. Wow, when I put it all l down in this post, we have a lot running on this "miracle network" (per my ISP)... Good luck!!

Why does someone need that many routers in their house? Jeez lol.
 
A small update this fall to fix the Wifi sync issues. LG hasn't decided yet whether they will bring 5.1 next spring or not.
 
Have had my G3 for over a year. Since Lollipop I've noticed the battery going down faster and faster. Now today takes the cake. Unplugged from charger four hr. ago and have made no calls. Down to 34% and feels very warm. My beautiful phone has been wrecked. I restarted it and have it plugged in. I suppose should try the factory reset?
