LG G4 lock screen confusion!

Hi guys,

I recently got a G4 and here's what I'd like to do: use Smart Lock (I have this turned on) so that when I'm home I can activate the phone by double tapping (no swipe up) BUT simultaneously set up a lock (password, pattern, etc.) that will work when I'm away from home.

Right now (and after much online research) I can't figure out how to do this. The choices seem to be either no lock screen whether I'm home or not OR a lock screen that activates when I'm away from home but that when I'm home I still need to swipe up to activate the phone.

Any help is much appreciated.

Just to recap: I want to be able to activate my phone at home by simply double-tapping the screen (no extra swipe), and use Smart Lock to require a lock feature (password, pattern, etc.) that will work when I'm away from home.

Thanks!

John

That's exactly how my AT&T LG G4 works: No lock screen at home, pattern lock screen elsewhere.

Under Settings-Smart Settings, I have everything turned off.

Under Lock Screen-Smart Lock-Trusted Places is set to "Keep device unlocked at Home".

Not rooted, no task switch app. Android 6.0, Software version H81020n.

Should be able to set it up where your home wifi is a trusted agent, or something like that, that won't require a password, but when it's not connected to that wifi, it will need a password. I have my G4 set up where if it's connected to my ZenWatch, no password. If not connected, then password required.

Thanks, guys. I guess my question wasn't clear. Right now the phone requires a pattern unlock when away from home (good) but at home I awaken it by double tapping the screen (good) but then ALSO need to swipe up from the bottom (bad). Is there no way to avoid this last step? Once I double-tap, why doesn't the phone just awaken?
