LG G4 square button not showing apps

My LGG4's sqaure button doesnt work. Whenever I press it, it just goes to the screen where it should be and then I see one of the apps I have opened, just for a second, and then have it disappear! It doesnt even say no apps open even if I use the clear all button. My phone is not rooted and this started when I installed the. Non root version of greenify and created a shortcut that hibernates everything. How do I fix this?

I know i cant even use greenify on my g4, it will do all kinds of weird crazy shit. I have no clue why and cannot find any info on it. I finally found an app called "app restriction" which hibernates apps exactly the same as greenify but perfectly smooth and dependable. With greenify when I hit the hibernate button it would start going through each apps settings with the automated force close but hung up on every one and I had to manually hit the force close button for every app. Then a random apps settings page would hang up as the whole system wallpaper image making a weird ass layered effect I had to reboot to fix. Strange indeed....
