Root LG Intuition - Now On Verizon

So I was looking for a rep on verizon and saw this Set Your Location . LG released a new LG Intuition on Verizon! Just wanted to let you all know! Just wondering could this mean we could pull the ICS system from it since it almost has the same exact specs as the the spectrum also here is what I got from an LG rep with the ICS situation

Conversation:
You: Alright has the ICS update been pushed to this device yet?
Arty: I can definitely check this for you one moment please
You: ok thanks :)
Arty: it is already available
You: I checked on my phone and didnt get the update
Arty: We only have access to only is on blog its ultimately up to LG to when they release

I'm completely confused on what's going on ... I just kinda think its bad when LG released a new ICS phone with no update for us yet. Time will pass though! Sorry If I'm posting in wrong area, have a great day! :)

This happens all the time... Manufacturers always release newer phones with a new os before their older phones are updated...

And simple answer for porting ICS from it, no.

I wasn't saying port the cm9 from it, I was saying whenever there is CM9 for our device, I could put parts from this into it, that is if there is a system dump, it should be easier with this device cause its on the same network and has almost the same specs.

I'm just going to wait and see if htc goes with verizon; on that quad core five inch beast that has been rumored . NO MORE LG . Only thing that can stop me from selling this phone is , the power house devs we have.

To each his own. I personally love LG because they don't screw with their phones much. HTC has a bootloader lock so I won't buy one on principle, even if they allow it to be unlocked. Samsung does all sorts of crap to be hostile to devs, like BML/STL which require closed source kernel modules, so I'll never buy Samsung again.

This is the same principle I used to follow with PCs. Always buy the generic whitebox, never a major brand, because the major bands have custom parts and are harder to upgrade.

Sometimes that works, usually it doesn't.

Unlike other brands, LG names the phone-specific files (libs, etc) totally different on each phone, so you have to know what each one does if you're to match them up. On Motorolas, the files are almost always the same name... we saw that in the DX to the D2 and D2G.

If it has a different board or radio, that muddles things even more. You can try, but don't expect much...I and others tried porting from the NitroHD, which is VERY similar to the Spec and had no luck.

I've ported some apks from the ics leak to my Evo Shift all I got to do is just fix permissions in cwm and they'll work. I ported super heavy on the ICS Leak to my htc evo shift and got to the boot animation. I got the log cat and all and it seems to be audio issues. I'm not sure how to fix it, it was really just a test to see if I could get it to boot before it was released. I'm so close to the boot. Although it doesn't stop like the spectrum does.

You're not understanding this.. I can guarantee you, that regardless of specs, its next to impossible. Whether the board name be iprj or i_vzw. i_vzw is a VARIANT of the iprj board. Stuff from the iprj boards DO NOT WORK.

The differences, however minute to us, make a world of difference to the devices. Porting drivers/libs/etc from the intuition wont happen. We need official ICS for the Spectrum.
