LG is Finally Pushing a Pie Update in the US: Verizon’s V40 ThinQ

I make my own wallpapers but not icons. I made my icons in the days of Palm, but I haven't figured out how to do icons in Android. Is there an app?

You've already got it mark. PhotoEditor.
Take the basic image that you want for an icon and crop it square. Add any text, ping images etc.
Round the corners ( I hate square icons).
Save as a .ping image.
Basically done.
For some image editing when I want to make a ping, I use background eraser.

About 3 minutes time...

I was starting to ask about that autorotation button, markdoc, but I think I've got it figured out.
I keep autorotation turned off most always. Now, when I rotate the phone, the icon just shows up on it's own.
Nice feature if you keep it off and only want it temporarily.

I never realized it was so easy. Thanks loads. (Love the icon! Lol)

I'm the same way. I keep it off most of time. I turn it on for a few games of solitaire and some photos.

Pie gripe...

I absolutely hate the new lock icon.
I honestly don't know what it looks like or how its different. I rarely use the power button. I use an app to lock my phone. (So I don't wear out the power button) And I use the AOD, so I never see it.

Don't use power button either. Knock to open and soft lock to lock.

Old lock icon was at the bottom 1/4 of the screen. New one is about twice in size and up at the top.

I guess they figured it was hard to see.

What happened to your V20? Mine works fine after Oreo. Works much better and doesn't overheat as much as on Nougat.
Oh my V20 survived the update fine once the final version was pushed out. The problem was the initial update T-mobile pushed out was released on April 1st (insert April's Fools Day joke here) and was recalled because there were so many bugs. It wasn't re-released until over a month later with nothing on their website that explained why the update was recalled or when another one would be pushed out. It was a real mess.

I never got the original update. I think they pulled it before I even had the chance. Glad they did because mine is just fine.

That new lock still has me aggravated though.
I almost never see that icon. And I use "Screen Lock Pro" to lock my phone and always use an AOD. If you try a similar or same combination, you won't see it to bother you. Unless you can find a really invasive icon theme that changes it.(if that's even possible) just a thought

Don't run the AOD. I'm guessing that Screen Lock Pro may be comparable to soft lock screen. Legacy app that I've had since my 2nd tablet.
Did you get the warning that your legacy app may not work? I've gotten it on two apps that are no longer supported. I found a replacement for one, but I can't find a suitable replacement for the other. So far, it still works.:D

The only app that I got a warning from was NoLED. Of course it hasn't been supported for some time now, BUT it still works. Wondering if some of the issues with some of the other notification apps will have cleared up with Pie?

The Soft Lock app hasn't hiccuped at all. Still running version 2.2, which hasn't been updated in over 5 years.
I guess it does one thing and one thing only...
