LG L9 is suddenly dead. nothing works

I have a T-mobile LG Optimus L9 that is about 14 months old and it went dead yesterday. I plugged the USB cable to the phone to my phone last night before I went to sleep and noticed that the screen didn't turn on. I didn't think much of it and went to sleep.

This morning I tried to turn it on by pressing the power button and nothing works. I tried my wife's full battery (she has the same phone) and it didn't work either.

I connected my phone to my PC with a USB cable and my PC did nothing when it was connected...

I took the battery out for 2 hours and tried again didn't work... tried hard reset by pressing volume down+home+power button for 10 seconds... didn't work.

I don't know why I'm having this problem... I didn't drop the phone or anything like that yesterday. It just suddenly went dead and it's out of the 1 yr warranty period.

Anyone have any idea? and how much would it cost to fix it?

It really could be one or several internal issues that may be causing it to not power on. Not sure what a fix would cost since it could involve replacing the motherboard on it, or a loose power cable, but again it may not be that. You may be better off buying another one.

It happened to my L9 as well. Fortunately it was under original warranty. I contacted LG and they asked me to ship the phone to them at my cost.

I got it back after about 10-12 days. The description on the service log said, "Replaced OnBoard ChipSet".

Apparently this seems like a common problem.

Since yours is over 14 months, I'd recommend filing a warranty claim through your credit card's extended warranty program, assuming you purchased it with a card that offers it.

Let us know how it worked out. Good Luck.
