Hello and welcome to the forums . I see you have a new device you want to root and keep in mind we are not responsible for any problems and this will void your warranty

First download all drivers to a laptop or pc . Next check to see if the device is up to date .

I have rooted my old phone before. Just trying to find out if anyone has done it on the firmware version I posted on this phone yet and see how they did it.
Firmware on phone is LG_VS870_11A

Thanks for any help.

Hey Brian I have read that already. not sure what you mean here. This is the post that made me confused I just want plain root access so I can use TB on my phone that's all not looking for custom roms or anything. But my phone has the newest firmware on it and I wasn't sure if the motochopper root would work looks like they say it does but I don't se any conformation that it does anywhere. Also don't see anywhere to download motochopper either.

Thanks

You can use the motochopper but the RECOVERY .is a problem . Unless you have RECOVERY why would you root . Thats like a firefighter trying to put out major fires with his bad breath.

1. Root and Recovery are confirmed working. In the settings of your phone go to developer options and set it to USB debugging.

2. Now go to this next link and and follow the instructions to root the phone. It may not work on the first or second try, but keep trying it will work eventually...

3. Next go to this next link and install recovery if you wish to flash anything or make backups (optional)...

4. Lastly on this next link you can install the kernel I made if you wish to have the ability to remove any app on the phone without bricking (optional)...

I don't own this phone so that's probably all the help I can be...

Hope this helps ;)
