Help LG Mic issues help???

My Mic was working fine then I suddenly couldn't make calls. I tested Mic by doing Mic searches on Google etc. It works fine for all that. I even managed a call the other day but then today they can't hear me. I've read about a rubber gasket that can cause issues etc. I like the phone so I'd rather not replace it (until something much more next gen comes up cheap ). So it works in all vocal apps just not the phone app. I can hear the people so it's not that. It wasn't dropped etc. It just kinda fizzled. I have tools to take apart so any info will help please. Its a great phone for the price I paid about a year ago.

Just a shot in the dark

Plug a headphone (quickly plug it in and unplug, repeatedly) in. Then try the mic again.
