Help LG Motion "slow charging", won't transfer files

A few months back my SD card failed. Same time, I started seeding a message about "slow charging" whenever I plugged it into the charger.
Shortly after, I realized my Dell laptop was not recognizing my phone anymore - would not transfer photos or files via the wire.

Now, I can still use Bluetooth to recognize/transfer. But I'd really like to transfer photos the old fashioned way, as well as get rid of this slow-charging nonsense.

Help?!?

Hi JonnyChampagne and welcome to AF!
Have you checked to see what your USB connection mode is set too? It might be set "Charge Only"
Go to - "Settings/Connectivity/" and set the USB connection type too "Media syc (MTP) mode"
and also make sure the "ask on connection" check box is selected. That way anytime you connect your Motion to a PC it will ask what type of connect you would like to make.

If the above doesn't work, try a different USB port and/or USB cable.

Thanks for trying! I've tried numerous cords.

Just checked, and it was set to Media Sync"

Switched it to Charge Only, then back, and plugged it in again.

Still get a message saying "Device not recognized"

oh well....

Hey your welcome!
The last time I had a PC not detect a device and was getting the "Device not recognized" error. It was due to the connector pins being slightly bent out of place inside the charging port on the phone. The phone would charge but would not be recognized by the PC. So I turned the phone off and removed the battery, used a non metal or non conductive object, like a plastic toothpick and straightened the pins back out and finally the device was recognized by the PC.
You can also try to shimmy a really small piece of cut paper either on the top or bottom of the metal adapter or on both top and bottom of the micro USB cable so that it pushes or makes a contact with the pins inside the phones port and then plug the cord into the PC and see if it will connect. I thought the charging port went out or was coming un-soldered. After playing around with the paper shims I was able to get it to connect to the PC and realized the pins were bent and then straightened them with the plastic toothpick and it has been fine ever since.

Might not be the problem but it's worth a try!
