lg motion wont do anything

One minute my LG motion phone was and then I went to plug it in to charge it . Now it won't do anything.and the battery was on about 50%. Please help
 
Another possibility besides an old battery is a rogue app is constantly active and preventing the device from going into deep sleep while not in use. Have you tried preforming a factory reset or booting into safe mode to see if things even out?
