Help LG Optimus 1 (p500) turn off gprs

hi all

i am very new to the smartphone world so please be gentle

i have just bought the lg optimus 1 (p5oo) sim free

i do not have an internet allowance on my sim contract , plus the signal is only 2g in my area , is there a way on this phone to turn off gprs, so it does not connect to the net in this way and cost me money?

also will WiFi still work ok with gprs off ? , many thanks

when you drag down down the notification bar, unclick the second button from the right to turn off gprs.

to click on wifi button on the left most button to turn wifi on.

lg have told me to use an app from the market place called APNdroid, i assume that does the same as the above

?


once i download the app (getting phone delivered today) which boxes do i need to turn off , and could i still get mms texts (using the free version )? , also how to i set up wi-fi and then use market place from my phone?

When APNdroid has tuned off my grps connection will the widget be red, and if i turn it back on the widget will be green?
