LG Optimus Elite

My phone dies, I run out of parts (first brick is the spare parts), and Virgin Mobile comes out with a 4G LTE phone. Not a 4G, but 4G LTE. Sprint would have to repurpose enough towers to 4G LTE as well.

Once the 4G LTE technology becomes affordable, and there are enough sprint towers that have been repurposed, then Virgin Mobile will come out with a phone with 4G LTE. At least a Year if not 2 from now. I can hold out with this phone for that long, especially with the spare parts. Might even have figured a way to unbrick it by the time the good one dies. I know there is a way to take the phone partially apart and use a jumper wire to shock the mother board back to life on other phones. Might try it when the good one dies.

Virgin was planning to launch limited 4G lte on Virgin and Boost in June/July, however this has been pushed back to after New Years (wish I could find the article I saw on it).

4G LTE is cheaper to maintain and provides more bandwidth for less money than 3g costs, so they are anxious to transition everyone to it. Sprint HAS to transition prepaid to it or they will lose their butt.

Expect new Phones for it when it happens.
ZTE already showed a CDMA phone I suspect Virgin will get for it. 1.2 processor, 3.7in screen (if I remember right, I can't find that article either). By that time it would be a perfect mid-upper level Virgin phone (mid-level for Virgin).

by the time VM gets 4g every other company is gonna have like 6g lol. I really wouldn't hold your breath too much.

When I first saw this article on Engadget the other day, the words that caught my eye were "Virgin" and "Optimus Vu". :p

Then I saw "Elite". I thought bleh, OK. Something better than the V right? Then I saw the specs. .2 more inches? 200 more MHz? The V is now over a year old and this is the "upgrade"? Was this an early April Fool's joke?

I'm dying for a large screen phone. The V has served me well, but I'm tired of squinting down at its little screen. It simply does not do Android justice. I like to play games, watch movies, and be able to type out stuff on a Bluetooth keyboard.

I thought about the Motorola Triumph, but heard it's been plagued with probs. Why can't Virgin get something like the LG Esteem on Getro?

If I manage to save enough money over the summer, I'm jumping ship to an unlocked Galaxy Note and Straight Talk.
