Root LG Optimus F3 (sprint/virgin) creating nandroid backup/rooting

Hello all, I am attempting to learn how to backup, root, and eventually get my f3 so that I can use the space on my sdhc card for apps and storage. I have found many forums even on this site pertaining to this but its an overwhelming amount of information and I keep ending up back in the same place. I am not an experienced android users, I do however know my fair way around a PC. But all this information about rooting, bricking, roms, backups, recoveries and ect is just overwhelming and sending me around in circles. Common sense tells me creating a backup or nandroid should come first however I can't seem to find any that support my phone. Anyone that has already gone through this process would be of great help. Thank you for your time and knowledge.

Need to get custom recovery flashed then u can make a backup and install costumbroms hang tight kk for this phone is all most done

At the bottom of the LG Optimus F3 page on the website, there should be links to 'Root' sub forums for each phone. You should be able to find all of the information you need there.
