LG Optimus L70

They lied to you then. Shoulda just lied to em and said it was unlocked. That's the problem with metro some of there reps don't know anything about the product there actually selling.

I bought this phone because it was so cheap and I wanted to see how LG had changed it's lower end phones since I last owned the LG Optimus M+. For $50, I'm good with having another Android device to mess around with. It won't replace my S4, just makes me appreciate the S4 so much more. But for $50, it's a nice phone. You can't complain about that price.

Anyways, A MetroPCS sim card came along with the phone. I'm curious to know that is I were to buy a T-mobile phone for another member of my family, can this Metro sim card be used to activate it or is it completely tied in with the L70? Thanks

T mobile prepaid got the l90. Which seems to be the same phone except it has a 4.7 inch screen and the same 1.2 quadcore s400 processor that the g has. There selling it for 180.

With an sd card removable battery... Only issue lg optimus ui

so mister shabby do you think the root for the lg f6 will work on this new lg l70?
thanks

normally id say absolutely not. i mean its 4.4 so just about every exploit should be patched (including loki for using custom recoveries etc). but it is lg and who knows, they are terrible for security.

Except on bootloaders they lock them well, so shabby since you are here, anyone know anything about this device bootloader?

its locked.

its an LG device, they lock all their phones. Loki was used for a long time but they patched it (finally) with 4.4, so chances are this device might be rootable using IOroot from autoprime, but it will never have a real recovery like the f6/f3 has.

Pop it in your s4 and goal thru the pairing process
Thanks. Although I'm not going to be using the L70 at all for a primary phone, I just wanted to know if I had future use of the Metro sim card if I bought a t-mobile phone for a family member, or if that sim card was tied to the L70....... Also, with Metro PCS we still can only have one active phone per account right? I couldn't register a second phone and switch gsm at free will?

Last question, I'm using the L70 as a wifi device, so naturally that alert of no service and no sim card is on the status bar and on the home screen. Any way of disabling that? I wouldn't mind the "no sim card" notification on the status bar, but it's a bit annoying on the actual home screen.

No with metro you have to call and give them the imei of the phone and the sim is tied to the phone. Its a carryover from there cdma days. You cant just pop your sim and and place it in any gsm phone like you can on att/tmobile.

The second question i believe is no to. I havent used an l70 but on other devices there is no way to remove that. I cant see the l70 being any different.

any verified root for the metro lg l70 / lgms323? have tried about everything. cannot even boot into stock recovery

Super lockdown so far but give development time can you use fastboot commands

yes, i have tried several different ways, some with adb, some just standalone apps...unlock root, srs, ext2 & ext4 partitions with the update through recovery method from xda but was unable to enter recovery, even spoke with techs at LG, told em i was a dev (lol) and needed to get into stock recovery, etc...
only phone i've had so far i couldn't get into from day one.
i'm trying to be patient...

root wont be coming for a while. they are having issues with teh g2 root on 4.4, going forward its going to be harder and harder to root. plus factor in loki is patched and thus means no recovery or cm and you are gunna have a lot of annoyed people with lg devices. buy unlocked like samsung/htc/moto/zte/ if youd like to have root/recovery.

is root for this going to take a bounty or is it just gonna take till a dev gets this phone in their hands?

There is a root method for the L series on xda but you have to be able to boot into recover, metro and tmobile did something to their versions of the phone to not be able to boot into recover. So we need a work around for that

Ok so today I went to a local authorized metro dealer to pick up the LG l70...I have no complaints so far and I'm coming from the motion 4g..but here's my issue when I asked about the phone I was told the 49.99 price was only if I get a new number and the woman said there was no mail in rebate...when I checked online it said the phone was 150 100 instant rebate and 50 mail in rebate thus making the phone free...but I guess that's not case anyone know anything about this? I ended up paying 105 dollars out the door for the phone and that was staying on a 40 dollar plan (50+40=90) 15 dollars in tax? Lol..oh she also got all wide eyed and told me this phone's water proof too? Either way so.far I like the phone but I still hate metro and the people that represent them 8(
