Anything that has a delete option from the built-in app manager is safe to remove. Metro wouldn't give you the ability to remove anything system-critical.
There actually isn't much in the way of non-removable bloatware on this phone. The old Optimus M had a lot more which was one of the main reasons I rooted it.

I haven't rooted mine yet (just 'cause there isn't a recovery yet), but I used the installed app manager (as well as the settings>applications>manage applications) to go thru and delete the apps that could be deleted. Like Fox Mulder said, if it couldn't be deleted, you wouldn't have the option to do so.
