one word: crap. 4 row keyboard on a premium 4" phone? Not even a consideration. You could put the sammy exynos in there, and I wouldn't touch it with that POS keyboard.
 
A key selling point of the epic is the 5 row keyboard in a world of crap keyboards that require use of the alt key all too often. Has nothing to do with being picky. if that's the case you couldkve just gotten the Shift. Wanting a 4" screen and five row keyboard is jut being too picking. The Shift should be fine.

I didn't really want a keyboard at all, I have the Epic 4G Touch. I posted this up because I know there's a lot of Epic users who won't get anything without a keyboard, but don't want the Epic 2 because it's barely an upgrade. So if it's not good enough for you then that's fine.
 
yet you're posting about a slider in a slider forum and then telling people about not being picky.

From a hardware point of the epic 2 doesn't sound like much of an upgrade. But they could....


  • give it SAMOLED+
  • make it thinner w/a smaller footprint (less bezel)
  • improve the keyboard, staggered keys, better feel
  • hdmi out, fm tuner, nfc
  • more ram and internal storage
  • bigger battery
  • the 1.2ghz processor might not be just a faster hummingbird
slap a $100 price tag on it and I'd pick one up. As much as I like having the newest, fastest blah blah blah. My phone helping me be productive is more important than being the sleekest and sexiest piece of hardware. Besides, I can do that with my tablet. Like picking up the fusion based MSI Windpad and throwing windows 8 on it.

On topic...a good 5 row keyboard is more important to me than a dual core processor. the way people carry on here about scrolling and smoothness and such. Compared to the Hero, Moment and Pre the latest crop of phones are plenty fast for most things. Anything better is just icing.
