I would recomend getting as much Android as you can afford, as the lower end devices do not offer the same experience as the higher end ones. I had to set something up with my mother in law's (can't remember what it is) and it was really bad in comparison to mine.
The best advice is to narrow it down online (via comparing specs, etc) of devices within your price bracket and then to get to a store and try and get some hands on time with the finalists from your list - one may not feel as good in your hand as another!

hi Friends,
am using LG optimus one and encountering a serious problem from a past few days. it started with my phone internal memory being displayed as getting low and i was unable to edit a single phone number even. then i tried to delete some files and i think did unmounting of the sd card even ( so foolishly)..then my sd card began showing as damaged ..so i formatted it ..then i had my phone reset ..and now the problem is am not able to start market..though i could use my gmail through you tube account.. i have tried everthing ,, from deleting cache of market to re-reseting..nothing seems to work..pls help..i need to get market for my applications..
