Hey folks... My name is Marvin and I have an LG Optimus Q Slider from Straight Talk prepaid service... I am new to the Android system and need a little help here... I didnt see a category for the Optimus Q slider but looks like the Optimus Slider...

I downloaded myxer and another music app... I download full songs with one music app and create ringtones with myxer... The problem is that when I play a song thru the preinstalled music player (labeled "music"), I cant shut the music player off...Ive looked in the menu and could not find a shutdown option...

There is a widget for the music player on my homescreen and when I back out of the player, the song title still apears in the widget window and is on pause... This uses a lot of battery...

Would someone please tell me how to shut the music off??? I have the app in auto kill in taskmanager but when i turn the screen back on, the song still appears in the widget in pause mode...

Please help... I really need to shut this thing down and i really appreciate any knowledge... Thank You!!!
Marvin

I've had my Slider for just over three months, and hadn't put any music on my card until now so I could see if I could figure this out.

What I did was pause the song, backed out of the player, then backed out of the song list. After that, it took about a minute for the application to stop. I checked the list of Running apps in Manage apps to confirm that it did stop.

I still consider myself new, so if there's any more to this I'm sure someone will answer.

Widgets are always running so they tend to use more battery life in general. My advice would be to trash the default player and download something like Winamp or something similar.
