Help LG Optimus S - Automatically unmounting SD card?

My girlfriend has an Optimus S. Every now and then if you hit a button to light it up it will say "SD card safe to remove." seconds later saying "SD card ready."

Every once in a while, it doesn't auto mount the SD card. Problem is, she uses K9 which has all of her email on the SD card, so sometimes it fouls it up until she goes in to re-mount the SD card.

I have an Optimus T, and have no issues like this. That said, I also have a rooted CM7 install on mine, whereas she's running the stock Sprint ROM.

Any thoughts on this? We would just like the SD card to stop unmounting... at all... unless we manually say to do so.

Same happened to me.. requested a new Optimus S and they sent me a new one - hardware fault with loose contacts. Helps if the phone is still under contract (within warrantee period).

When they ship the new phone it comes with ZVD making it very simple to root - yeah!
