LG Optimus Showtime or Huawei Ascend Plus?

So I have the Huawei Ascend and it is mostly sufficient for what I need. I do have a few issues. It won't let me update my apps due to not enough memory. It is also constantly popping up saying that an app (I am not currently using) is not responding and must be closed. I was going to purchase a larger mini SD (I have an 8 in there now) but I don't want to waste the $ if that won't help anyway. I do notice that some apps will not go onto the SD as I had hoped either and are only allowed to be saved on the internal storage. Would "rooting" the phone help this at all? These alerts are sort of driving me nuts. Short of wiping out all of my apps I'm not sure what else to do. Thanks...
 
BTW "all of my apps" consist of Facebook, YouTube, Pandora, and 2 games... Not a whole lot for the storage issues it has. Seems like a bunch of google stuff came preloaded I never use I'd like to get rid of if it'll help..
 
I would love to know does a 64GB micro sd card works with the Huawei ascend plus? I didn't get a manual or anything, just hate buying it and can't use it.thanks in advance.
 
It doesnt. It didnt recognize mine that I have for my tablet. I put a 32gb card in it when I gave it to my ex wife and it read that just fine.
